Sampei was awarded the prestigious EDIDA 2011/2012 (Elle Decoration International Design Awards). Sampei is a design of Enzo Calabrese for Italian label Davide Groppi. It is a floor lamp and pendant lamp at the same time.
According to Calabrese, Sampei is “able to occupy important dimensions and at the same time to be discrete. A blade of grass that sways and bends almost under ‘the weight of the eye’.”
The stem and structure is very lightweight, it’a made of a carbon composite. The lamp is “capable of capturing the emotions and vibrate at the slightest movement.” By just walking past it, it will gently move because of air movement. Sampei will bow for you, but just a little!
This giant floor lamp is available in an indoor and outdoor version in 4 models (230 / 260 / 290 / 440 cm) and white and black colors.
